Johnny Depp’s partner Vanessa Paradis has firmly denied rumours that the longtime couple are about to split.
The 39-year-old French actress finally addressed mounting speculation that her 14-year relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean star is over on French TV, telling an interviewer, “The rumour is false. Of course it is false.”
“That’s the kind of a rumour that could do a lot of harm to my family,” she said on the Canal Plus channel’s Grand Journal show on Tuesday night.
“When people say that we’re buying houses, that we’ve got 52 houses, that we split up every winter and get married every summer, that I’m pregnant for the twelfth time. You know all that’s not serious,” she said.
“But on the other hand when it could harm my children…”
She added, “I think it’s all just business. That’s all because … I don’t know … the Queen of England hasn’t lost a tooth this week, so they’ve got to find something (to write). And the magazines end up on the fire or in the bathroom, and that’s that.”
Paradis and 48-year-old Depp have two children, Lily-Rose, 12, and nine-year-old Jack.
The couple’s relationship came under scrutiny after tabloid magazine sources claimed that they were living separate lives – an allegation fueled by the pair not being pictured on the red carpet together in more than a year.
Depp and the children were believed to be in Los Angeles this week while Paradis promoted her new film Cafe de Flore, in Paris.
